1993年10月2日在新疆维吾尔自治区若羌县东南发生6.6级地震。宏观震中位于阿尔金山脉尤素普阿雷克塔格北坡阿尔金活动断裂带上,震中烈度为Ⅷ度,极震区为近东南走向的椭圆形。地震造成1人轻伤,约17.8万m2的各类建筑物受到不同程度的破坏,估计此次地震造成的经济损失为277.05万元。
若羌6.6级地震序列为主震-余震型,最大余震MS5.5,余震衰减正常,余震区长轴北东东向。震源机制解中节面Ⅰ走向北西西,P轴方位为北东向。推测该次地震是在北东向的主压应力作用下,产生的左旋错动结果。节面Ⅰ为地震主破裂面,发震构造为北东东走向的阿尔金断裂次级构造。
距震中300km内没有地震观测台站,仅在500km左右有库尔勒一个地震台,本次地震前存在地震围空现象。
Abstract
An
earthquake of MS6.6 occurred in southeast Ruoqiang
county of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Oct. 2, 1993 with the
epicentral intensity of Ⅷ. Its
macroseismic epicenter was located on the Aerjin active fault at the
northern hillside at Yousupualeiketage in the Aerjin Mountains. The
meizoseismal area was oval-shaped with its major axis in nearly SE
direction. One person was injured slightly in the earthquake, and
buildings of about 178 000m2 were damaged in different
degrees. It is estimated that the economic loss caused by the
earthquake was 2.77 million Yuan.
The
MS6.6 earthquake sequence was the mainshock-aftershock
type with the maximum aftershock of MS 5.5 and the
aftershocks decayed normally. The major axis of the aftershock area
was in NEE direction. In its focal mechanism solution, nodal planeⅠstroke
in NWW direction, and the azimuth of the P axis was in NE direction.
It is suggested that the event resulted from the left-lateral slip
under the action of the principal compressive stress in NE
direction, and nodal planeⅠwas the main
rupture surface. The seismogenic structure was the sub-structure of
the Aerjin fault in NEE direction.
There
were no seismic stations within 300km from the epicenter, only the
Kuerle seismic station with 500km away. Only the anomaly of seismic
gap was found before the event.
